Listen to the Narration:

It had been a hard winter, and Deer was foraging near the frozen creek when she spied Beaver pulling a bare branch through the snow.

“You finished building your lodge months ago,” Deer said to Beaver. “Why are you dragging branches out here in the cold, when you could be safe and snug at home?”

“I’m in training!” Beaver told her excitedly. “You must never stop practicing things, if you want to do them well. And just think — if I can learn to pull a branch through the snow, then doing it in nice weather will be a breeze!”

For Parents: What Stoic Quote Does This Story Illustrate?
