Listen to the Narration:

Fox and Robin visited the glade together to see Deer’s new fawn, who was just learning to run and jump on her wobbly legs.

“Sometimes I miss being young,” Fox said as he watched the fawn play in the glade. “Things were so much simpler then, and I was so very happy.”

Robin watched the carefree fawn for a bit longer before replying.

“Yes,” said Robin, “but today isn’t bad just because yesterday was better. It’s good to remember happy things in your past, but don’t let the memories ruin good things in your present.”

For Parents: What Stoic Quote Does This Story Illustrate?

“It’s not hard to fall into the trap of thinking ‘today must be bad, because yesterday was better’ . . . Be thankful for what you have now, and don’t compare it to anything else.”
