Chipmunk was visiting with Deer one evening when a small snake slithered past them on the ground.

“I don’t care much for snakes,” Chipmunk said. “Don’t you think they’re a bit unpleasant-looking?”

Deer looked at the snake for a moment before replying.

“I think that if your choices are beautiful, then you’ll be beautiful too,” she said at last. “And it looks like the snake is choosing all the right things for a snake to choose.”
